Record Breaking Bass Caught In Texas

By on June 18th, 2011 comments

Ronnie Tyler hauled a 14 pound 16 ounce largemouth out of Davis Lake on March 24. That makes it the biggest bass take from the lake, and it was a memorable catch for Ronnie, too.

He was fishing with 10-pound test line, a brim hook and a night crawler. Needless to say he wasn’t trophy hunting. He knew right away the fish was a lunker so he skipped reeling and fighting and just started walking the fish in. He backed further and further from the bank and a couple of nearby anglers helped him secure the monster.

While checking the record books, Ronnie also got two swift kicks in the pants. Two fish he caught last year would have been Texas state records, but he ate the evidence. We’ll take his word for it.
