I’m not one to ever say anything nice about Texas, but they did just pass a bill that allows sportsmen to noodle. And Missouri just said no.
To those of you who live under stones or in high-rises, noodling is a type of hand fishing. You wade through rivers or lakes, dive down below the water, stick your hand into a hole and let a catfish (generally a flathead) latch onto your hand. If you’re able, you swim up and eat catfish all night. If you can’t swim up, you are catfish food for the rest of your life.
My research says that you can noodle in Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kansas, Illinois, Arkansas, and now Texas.
So if you live in a noodling-friendly state, are you going? If you don’t live in one of those states, do you wish your state would reverse it’s ruling?
